The sellout Kalbar Sunflower Festival is BACK and it’s bigger and better than ever!

Imagine one million sunflowers, fine food, long lunches, live music, photography opportunities like no other, heli rides, flower crown creations, yoga & MUCH MORE!

  This year the Kalbar Sunflower Festival will be headlined by high-profile chef Richard Ousby, who will be cooking up a storm with a delectable three course lunch surrounded by acres of glorious sunflowers.

TMTE has teamed up with Kalbar Sunflower Festival to offer multiple tours during the course of the weekend with something to suit everyone! These packages will include transport to & from Brisbane or Ipswich, admission to the festival, plus special events.

Tour Packages

Friday 19th April, 2024 & Saturday 20th, April - General Admission + Transport
General Admission ticket will give you full day access to the Kalbar Sunflower Festival, where you can enjoy acres of beautiful blooms, food and drink stalls, free entertainment, markets, plus a plethora of additional extras (see the list of incredible workshops and events below), return transport in an air-conditioned bus, plus snacks and water for the trip.

If you’re thinking about bringing the kids along, there will be plenty of fun things for them to do too! Think face painting, bubbles, colouring in, painting, and craft and even a sandpit and a special children’s fairy garden to delight the little sunflowers in your life.

Return Transport: Transport to the festival will be in our 12 or 22 seater bus, with bottled water available on the bus.

Dinmore Station Commuter Carpark: 10:00am arrival for 10:15am departure

Sunday 21st April, 2024 - Jazz In The Sunflowers (Long Lunch Event)
Enjoy a truly magical experience amongst the sunflowers with this 3 course long lunch event. Swing and dance the day away while enjoying a live jazz band, savour local flavours prepared by renowned chef Richard Ousby. Your tickets will include all day admission into the festival where you can get up close and personal with the sunflowers, along with a bounty of additional extras from talented vendors. You’ll also receive a complimentary beverage on arrival, a 3 course lunch, photo opportunities with Julie Rose’s model in incredible floral couture, live jazz music, VIP parking & return transport in an air-conditioned bus, snacks and water on the bus, plus great raffle prizes with funds going to Mater Cancer Council, Springfield.
The long lunch event will run from 11am - 2pm (although, you are welcome to enjoy the music until 4pm). If you wish to book additional workshops, we suggest booking between 2-3:30pm.

Sunday 21st April, 2024 - General Admission + Transport
We have now opened up General Admission tickets on Sunday 21st April. Attending the festival on this day will give you ample time throughout the day to enjoy all the additional extras the festival has to offer.

Return Transport: Transport to the festival will be in our 12 or 22 seater bus, with bottled water available on the bus.

Yoga and Sound Healing - $44
1.5 hours of relaxation in the sunflowers. Yoga & Sound sessions will be held by Lou from Kalbar Yoga and Meditation and Kylie from Uniquely You Holistic Health & Beauty

Helicopter Rides - $85
The team from Elite Helicopters are back again this year. If your bucket list has always included a helicopter joy flight, grab this amazing opportunity to take a 5-minute flight over the sunflower fields and surrounding farmland set amongst the amazing Scenic Rim skyline and ranges. Tickets are $85pp for a 5 min ride.  Please note each seat capacity is 136kg.

Art Classes - $55
Janelle from ARTrageous will be holding a one hour art class where you will learn simple line work and stippling. You will take home an impasto painting on a 20x25cm canvas.
Classes each day:- 9am-10am; 11am-12pm; 1.00pm – 2pm ; 3.00 – 4pm

Art Classes - $66
The team from Grounded Village Jimboomba are bringing their amazing art classes to the Sunflower Festival. Liz will teach a 1.5 hour acrylic class and you will take home your very own 30x40cm Sunflower Masterpiece. All materials supplied just bring your enthusiasm and love of sunflowers and you will be guided through the process. Classes are each day:- 8.30-10am; 10.30 – 12.00pm; 1.00-2.30pm; 3.00-4.30pm

Julia Rose Floral Artist – Flower Crowns - $55
Our ever-popular Flower Crown workshop is a class loved by everyone of all abilities. You will create a beautiful wearable floral crown, the perfect accessory for flowing dresses and sipping bubbly. This is one fun event you won't want to miss. This 1 hour workshop includes everything you will need to create your crowns.
Two classes per day :- 10am – 11.30am and 2pm – 3.30pm

Maria will also have flower crown workshops at 11am - available for drop-in bookings on the day.

Sohum Heart – $38.50
Through this mindful and intentional activity, Maria will help you to slow down, relax and connect with who you are and those around you. You will create a beautiful and unique flower crown adorned by sunflowers to enjoy for the rest of the festival. Perfect for families, this is a great opportunity to connect with your children and friends in a grounded and slow activity and create a memory you will all cherish. 1 hour workshop.
Pre-Booked workshops 9am and 1pm each day. Maria will also hold a drop in class at 11am and 3pm each day. Pay on arrival to her workshop.

Mini Photoshoots - $99
Frolic in the flowers and create memorable moments with this professional mini photo shoot!
We have a team of amazing professional photographers who will be on hand to capture your special sunflower memories. Sessions will go for 10 minute session and offer 5 digital images.

Devonshire Tea - $10
Enjoy a large sunflower scone with jam and cream and a cup of tea or coffee at the big white marquee in the market field. (Fundraiser for Mater Foundation)

FACILITIES

2024 will see the introduction of our new purpose built track for our disabled and visitors who have mobility issues to walk through our sunflower fields. Kalbar Sunflower Festival will also be offering designated buggy rides into the fields as well. These will give you the opportunity to take some close up photographs of the beautiful sunflowers.
There will be shade pavilions set up with seating on hay bales available. Food and drink are available to purchase through our many vendors onsite. We will also have market stalls with a wide variety of items to be purchased including sunflower themed handmade goods and fresh produce.

Toilet facilities – On site portable toilets as well as four designated disabled toilets.

Remember the sunflower farm is a working farm and it’s reccomended that all patrons wear enclosed shoes, hats, sunscreen (umbrellas are also allowed). You are welcome to BYO water bottle, we encourage reusable as there will be filling stations provided by Urban Utilities (it can be very hot).

TRANSPORT

Transport to the festival will be in a small group setting, in our 11 seater bus or 21 seater bus.

Please note: we are not offering self drive GA tickets. For these tickets, you’ll need to keep an eye on Kalbar Sunflower Festival’s website. Their GA tickets usually go on sale in March and tend to sell our in 24 hours!

TMTE will be providing PRE-SALE tour tickets to the public until the general admission tickets become available through Kalbar Sunflowers. Book your tickets in advance to avoid missing out on this incredible event!
